Meet East Atlanta’s own R&B and Pop girl group MAKO Girls!
MAKO Girls have been setting their own trends and creating their own opportunities since 2013. Mimi, A-Ni, and Kena Ochoa known to most as
MAKO Girls, are three West Indian descent sisters that took their love for singing and dancing to a professional level.
Originally inspired by TLC and Mindless Behavior, the MAKO Girls wanted to do more than just sing and dance, they want to entertain the masses. The MAKO Girls have performed at over 300 shows throughout the span of their career. With live performances throughout the United States, these ladies have also performed live overseas in Bahamas, London, and Jamaica.
This dynamic trio have been featured on top tier media such as Sheen Magazine, 21Ninety, featured as one of the Top 8 Black Girl Groups on BET.com, Black Link Magazine, Hype Magazine, CeeSoDope.com, and mentioned in Hip Hop Weekly. MAKO Girls entrepreneur endeavors are nothing less than amazing. Utilizing the unique way; they introduced themselves into the music industry, The MAKO Girls created a party-concert series called, "The MAKO Girls Annual Carnival Glow Party". This annual event transformed into a professional platform where other artists that possess the same drive and passion can showcase their talent. The experience elevated to a bigger event year after year, hosting over 450 event attendees within its third year in existence.
With over 1.4 million followers on TikTok, MAKO Girls worked with
MAJOR brands such as Beats by Dre, JD Sports/ Nike, ColourPop Cosmetics X Disney, Good American, Sony Music Entertainment, IMVU, Dollskill, and IHOP. Their desire to make a difference in the music industry has been the driving factor within their career. This Award-Winning girl group is definitely one to keep your eye on.
Currently, MAKO Girls are promoting their hit song, “Ain’t Thinkin’ Bout You” from latest EP “Lvls To This” and their Pretty Girls Love To Party Anthem "Outside" released August 2023.
